It was love at first site when I first laid my eyes on an Argus C3. I saw it on a blog post or forum somewhere, but I don’t remember specifically where. I was immediately taken with its chunky, steam-punk style. I did a little digging and learned that this camera has been dubbed “The Brick.” That’s mostly because of its weight and shape. No rounded edges on this one.
Not two days later I came across an ad on Facebook Marketplace for the very same camera. I recognized the local seller as somone I’d purchased another camera from a few months earlier. I reached out and we struck up a deal.
I’ll do a more in-depth post on the camera itself in due time, but for now here are a few photos I took with the camera. When I get a new piece of gear, I immediately want to run a roll of film through it to see what I’m working with.

I used FujiFilm Color 400 and processed it with CineStill CS41 Liquid Developing Kit.
Some of the photos I post to this site are edited to reduce noise, sharpen, etc. These photos are straight scans with no editing. I wasn’t necessarily blown away by the quality of the images, but was very pleased that it’s a working and functional camera.
