This is the first time I’ve developed a roll of “Found Film” and not had any mystery about when the photos were taken. This roll has the date stamped right on the photos. “6 9 ’97.” That’s almost 28 years ago! Interestingly, my oldest son was born just three months before this roll of film was shot.
The roll was only a 12 exposure roll. Polaroid ISO 200. I developed it today in Cinestill CS-41. I just did straight scans with no editing or cleaning up of the photos. This roll is from a quantity of exposed film I bought on ebay a while back. I’ve posted one of the rolls already. You can see that post here. It appears to be the same family in both posts.
Are any of these little boys now sporting good facial hair?
There’s something very satisfying about bringing photos to life that have never been seen by anyone before. This roll is clearly of a celebration and of a family spending time together. Surely the photos were taken with the intent to have them developed and printed. It makes me wonder why the photos were never developed. It also make me wonder what these folks are up to now.
My 28 year-old who was born in Q1 of that same year is a full-on adult now. He has a child of his own. A career. A house. And a pretty nice mustache. Are any of these little boys now sporting good facial hair?
