I have no memory of aquiring this camera. I checked my camera collection spreadsheet and was reminded that I bought it off of eBay four months ago for $36.77. Additionally, I have no memory of why I aquired this camera. My best guess is I came across an online review, YouTube video or Reddit post in which someone praised it, then I set out to get my own copy. That’s how these things usually go for me.
My research on this camera shows it’s a copy of the Leidolf Lordomatic II. It was introduced in 1959 and manufactured in Germany for Unimark Photo, based in New York.

My trial run with this camera was with a small, ten-exposure roll of Arista EDU Ultra 100 which I bulk loaded. My copy of the camera has a light meter, but it doesn’t appear to function. It is outfitted with a fixed 50mm / f2.8 lens. The viewfinder is BIG, but there is no coupled rangefinder. Focus is by using the zone method. The film advance lever is a double-stroke, which took some getting used to. The back of the camera comes completely off to allow for film loading. The shutter speed and aperature are locked together, so it makes simple work of changing settings. The locking can be overridden, obviously. This is a very simple and straigtforward camera.

The camera produced some nice images and it was fun and pretty simple to use.
