Historical Context

The name “Baldex” is actually part of a notoriously confusing naming convention from the German manufacturer Balda-Werk. When most people say “Baldex,” they are usually referring to the Balda Baldix (a classic 1950s post-war 6×6 folder) or the pre-war Balda Baldax (often 6×4.5). There was a very brief 1936 model technically branded as the Baldex that shot on 127 film, but it is exceptionally rare.
