Historical Context

The GAF Ansco 127 is a very simple, fully plastic point-and-shoot camera introduced around 1967.

It represents one of the final gasps of the 127 roll film format. It was marketed to casual vacationers and families as an easy-to-use snapshot camera, right at the exact moment when the industry was pivoting heavily toward the foolproof, drop-in 126 cartridges.
