The Pentax IQZoom 130M (branded as the Espio 130M outside the United States) is a highly capable, feature-packed 35mm point-and-shoot camera from the mid-to-late 1990s. Positioned in Pentax’s premium compact lineup, the “M” designation stood for “Mini,” highlighting its incredibly compact aluminum-brushed body despite packing a massive 3.4x power zoom lens.

While many point-and-shoots of the 90s relied on cheap center-weighted or average metering, Pentax loaded the 130M with a sophisticated 6-segment evaluative auto-exposure system. This system actively reads distinct areas of the frame to automatically apply backlight compensation if your subject is standing in front of a bright window or sunset.
