Historical Context

The Sabre 620, introduced in 1956, is a delightfully retro piece of plastic mid-century Americana. Manufactured by the Shaw-Harrison Corporation (and later by Precision Plastic Products) out of Chicago, Illinois, this simple pseudo-TLR/box camera hybrid was sold as an incredibly cheap, mass-market consumer camera.

With its bold colors, simple mechanics, and distinct styling, it perfectly encapsulates the entry-level drugstore camera boom of the late 1950s.
